Introduction To My Spinal Cord Injury Blog

Hi, welcome to my homepage on spinal cord injury. I am not going to bore you with my success story, for I have none. I am another tetraplegic trying to cope with my disabilities and go on living life as fruitfully as I possibly can, and this is my story.

I broke my neck in 1984 and is paralysed from my chest downwards. My life has changed tremendously since. There is nothing worst than not being able to do the things that you have always taken granted for.

I have my Mother to thank for helping me pull through the darkest moments of my life. She is a pillar of strength and a symbol of perseverance. Mum passed away peacefully on July 11, 2003. I pray that she will find eternal tranquility where she has gone to. I love you Mum, forever.

Peter, my cousin, is a source of inspiration. He is one tireless workhorse who constantly ferries me to physiotherapy sessions, and everywhere. He played an active part in my rehabilitation and helping me get back on my feet, literally.

At the same time, let me share with you a poetry site dedicated to my cyberbuddy who constantly challenges me to reach for greater heights.

If you have a comment or wish to contact me, please send me an email at mail [at] petertan.com.

* I am assimilating the the entire Spinal Cord Injury site into a blog.

My son is 28 years old. He fell asleep at the wheel after working graveyard. His injury complete C5-6. He can move arms, no hand use yet. Accident happened 4/15/2005. How long did you stay in rehab hospital? How long before you became independent enough to live alone? How long before you could wiggle toes and stand with parallel bars? We live in Louisiana and I have found no rehabs equipped for spinal cord injury-did you buy equipment and which kind of equipment served you best for exercise?
